Alchemy Lacquers - Hemlock

Good morning friends! I am going to start by saying that this is one out of many Alchemy Lacquers that I am obsessing over. Simply put, I want every single color that she offers...

I had to be VERY good and choose only one of the colors that spoke to me the most.

Hemlock is one of five colors in the "Witches Weeds" collection by Alchemy Lacquers. You can see all five [here].

I am so excited about this color. I just love it when I put on a polish and am in awe of it. In all of my photos I have on two coats of Hemlock and one coat of Seche Vite.

Magical.....it's just magical.

Hemlock is, "A blue-purple linear holographic nail lacquer with purple, red, orange, yellow and green multichrome shift."

This is another multi-chrome stunner that feels like a million different colors in one bottle.
Like I said, I think that pretty much every single color in their shop are colors that I would love to own, and I don't usually feel that way.

Head over to Alchemy Lacquers and get some goodies for yourself!

Crazy Eyes!

Hey there...It's ten at night...why NOT write a blog post?
This is the time of night that I actually have some real quiet around here...the kiddo is sleeping, the dogs are sleeping and I don't have to work tomorrow. So, here we are!

I saw some super crazy and super awesome nails on chalkboardnails.com. As usual...the manicures she comes up with are SUPER amazing. I am always in awe of the crazy amazing things she comes up with. For some reason, her "Over the Top Eyeball Nails" stuck with me. I have wanted to try these nails forever, and I felt really ambitious the other night.

For the original inspiration, click [here].

Here's what I came up with!

Over the top? Yes.
Super fun? Yes.

Halloween appropriate? Yes!

This mani takes lots of patience...but it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Gather your colors and your dotting tools and you're set!

See you next time!

Franken Fun!

Welcome! What do you think of my new look?

Have you heard of the act of Frankening? To franken is to take existing polish and combine them to make a custom polish with things you already have! There are tons of super cool Halloween polishes out there, for sure...problem is, they only come out to play for a short time!

I looked through all of my polishes and found some very exciting things! I started with a very sheer pearl base with pink and blue shimmer in it. I dumped out half of the bottle to prepare it for the glitters I wanted to mix in. I used three different glitter toppers to get the look I have here.

Let's take a look, huh?

For my first "Franken polish", I am super pleased with how it came out!
Initially I thought it was a little sheer, so I added some white and Voila!

Shreds, hexes and shimmer! I love it!

Now I understand what all the fuss is about. I can't wait to try out some other combos!

Thanks for reading!

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer - Inspired by Dr Who

Welcome back to installment #2 of my Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer feature!
The two colors I have for you are yet to be released but will be hitting the store October 26th at 3:30pm edt.

These colors are inspired by the ever popular Dr. Who. Julie, from BEGL drew her inspiration from an episode that is one of her favorites, titled "Blink".

OY, Stupid Face!

This is a watermelon hot pink jelly that's filled with blue/purple and blue/green flakies.
In person you can see all of the colors, but the blue and purple show up the best in pictures.
In my pictures I am wearing two coats of color and one coat of Seche Vite.

Mickey Smith. Defending the Earth.

Mickey is a hunter green linear holo with gunmetal flakies scattered throughout. I used two coats for my application, but one would have been just fine!
The application was smooth as butter and is absolutely lovely to look at!

POW! Check out that holo! In or out of the sun, this color is stunning!

As I said earlier, these two and others will be part of Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer's October 26th release that is happening at 3:30 pm edt.

As a whole, I felt like I enjoyed wearing all of the colors by Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer that I was able to try. There are quite a few more that I'm very interested in trying in the future!

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer - Current Colors

Happy Tuesday, friends! Today I have some lovely shades to show you, courtesy of Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer. This is a new to me brand, but after trying them, I am convinced that I will be adding more to my collection.

Todays post has three shades that are already part of the regular lineup...in fact, two of today's shades are on sale right now!

Let's get to it, shall we?

Chlorine Light

Chlorine light is a brilliant blue linear holo with rainbow flakes and a slight metallic finish.
You know how I feel about blue polish! This is a gorgeous blue shade that I think you could easily wear all year long! In my pictures I am wearing two easy coats of Chlorine Light and one coat of Seche Vite.

Self Satisfied

Self Satisfied is a glitter topper in a green shimmer base. This polish is filled with all sorts of glitters in many shapes and sizes. I used it over "Ash and Emerald" by Emerald and Ash.
I had to do a little bit of fishing for glitter and placed some pieces, but I feel like that's pretty normal for a heavy shaped glitter topper. I love it, it's a fun glitter!

Skating in the Snow

Skating in the snow is a white crelly base filled with purple and aqua hexes, iridescent glitters and fuchsia and teal dots. This white crelly base is the perfect milky crelly and the glitter isn't overpowering. In my pictures I have on three coats of Skating in the Snow and one coat of Seche Vite.

What fun it was to review these existing shades for Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer!
The selection of colors from this brand is extensive, so check out the online shop to get some for yourself!

Tomorrow's post will feature two NEW shades from this brand!
See you then!

Elevation Polish - Red Sea

I am one lucky girl to have gotten my hands on Red Sea by Elevation polish. This polish was a small batch prototype that was released over the summer. Red sea is a strong multichrome and holo stunner that is a true chameleon. Every which way I look at this color it's different. It's gold, it's purple, it's burgundy and it's majorly holographic!

Of course, the sun wasn't out when I was taking pictures...but you can get a good idea of it's awesomeness.

The next one was photographed with the help of  a led light bar that I just got. I love how you can see ALL of the little bits and pieces that make this polish so amazing.

In my pictures I have on two coats of Red Sea (I really only needed one) and one coat of Seche Vite.
This polish went on smooth as butter.

In case you didn't already know...any SBP that Elevation sells gets snapped up immediately.
Lulu does restocks on the 7th and the 22nd of each month, with a selection of SBPs at every restock.

I'm not sure why this was only released as an SBP...it's so gorgeous, I think everyone should have it!

Remember, the restocks at Elevation happen on the 7th (TOMORROW!) and the 22nd.
Get over there and get your hands on some of Lulu's amazing stuff.

Darling Diva - Don't Call Me, I'll Call You

When it comes to sass, Darling Diva's got you covered. Go take a look at the colors in the Darling Diva online shop and decide for yourself. The polishes that Carrie creates are absolutely stunning. What's more? The names of the polishes are fantastic!

Today's color is a gem named, "Don't call me, I'll call you."
I have this color in a little bitty baby bottle, that Carrie gave to me at a Minnesota nail gals meetup in the spring. Why I waited so long to try it is beyond me. This ruby red polish is a stunner.

"Don't call me, I'll call you." is a deep ruby red holo polish with gold flakes throughout that look more red than gold, in my opinion. I loved the consistency of this polish, as I do with the other Darling Divas in my collection.

This picture was taken with the flash on, to show off the holo!

In my photos I am wearing two coats of color, and one coat of Seche Vite.

Get this lovely color while you can, along with numerous others in the Darling Diva online store.
