Enchanted Polish and Picture Polish comparison

Happy Wednesday! Hope you're having a great day so far! I have another Enchanted polish to show you today, along with a Picture Polish shade that is full of the same color shifts! In this mani, I am wearing Ciao Milano by Enchanted Polish and Aurora by Picture Polish.

Ciao Milano is a clear glitter topper with a color shift from turquoise to purple and even some blue and gold in just the right light.

Aurora is a complicated little polish to explain...it's tone on tone the same color as Ciao Milano, but the formula and coverage is different. I guess it is best described as a very sheer multichrome polish. The glitter that composes this polish is so teeny that it's hard to tell that it's glitter at all. Also, in the mix, there are larger pieces of glitter like those in Ciao Milano.

Upon first examination, I thought that these two colors would look identical. I decided to start with a base of a very dark purple, and then layered these two lovely polishes over the top. Let me tell you...they are very similar, yet VERY different.

I can't even begin to explain my love for both of these colors. I mean, Aurora says "mind blowing" right on the bottle! In my pics I have on two coats of Sinful Colors "Inkwell" and two coats each of the Enchanted and the Picture Polish.

I love that these colors all work together, but have a slightly different texture. I have been wearing this mani since Monday, and I love it so much I don't want to take it off!

What's not to love about that???

This next picture is definitely not meant to have mesmerizing quality, I just wanted to show you how shifty these colors are! That's what I love so much about multichrome polish, you get all kinds of color, in one bottle.

Yep, thats the Enchanted and Picture Polish. It's in my living room without any light shining directly on it. You can really see that magenta/purple/gold shift, can't you?

I hate to tell you, but these colors aren't the easiest to get your hands on but you can sign up for the Enchanted Polish newsletter at enchantedpolish.bigcartel.com. You can keep up with Picture Polish via Facebook and Instagram too!

Thanks for checking in! Have a fabulous day!

Enchanted Polish - Bonjour Paris

Bonjour! Happy Monday! I have my second Enchanted Polish to show you today. Maybe you're aware, and maybe you're not...but typically, Enchanteds are pretty hard to get your hands on. In the last couple weeks there have been a couple of surprise restocks that are advertised by word of mouth. I found out about them via a couple friends telling me to get my hiney over to the Enchanted Polish site in a hurry. The colors that get posted in a restock are gone nearly as quickly as they are put up.

It's a very interesting thing...the allure of Enchanted Polish. The colors that she creates are without a doubt, gorgeous and unique. You've gotta have a good track record to be able to sell polish sight unseen, like the monthly mystery polishes. Sometimes the demand for these marvelous Enchanted shades gets a little bit out of hand. There have been crashed servers, cartjackings, and general frustration and outrage over this brand's polish. I felt very lucky to (fairly) easily get my hands on a few shades lately. Thanks to Erin, for giving me the heads up for this restock!

Today's color is  "Bonjour Paris". This polish is a multi-chrome glitter topper. It shifts between dark blue, purple and orange-red. For today's pics I layered it over black, so you could really see the colors in this shifty glitter!

I am wearing two coats of black polish, one coat of "Bonjour Paris" and one coat of Seche Vite.

Somehow, miraculously I was able to catch all of the colors in this macro shot! Isn't it beautiful?
Here's another shot of its color shift.

The texture of this polish was great, as always. No problems with application whatsoever.
Maybe the allure of this polish is for you, and maybe it's not...but you can always keep an eye on http://enchantedpolish.bigcartel.com/ , sign up for their newsletter and then you can stay in the loop!

Emerald and Ash - Hubble Polishes, part 2

Greetings, earthling! Today, I have two more STELLAR shades from the Emerald and Ash Hubble collection. Ashley asked me to review and swatch her new shades and generously offered me two shades that are new to me, but have been part of Emerald and Ash for a long time!

Let me tell you. These two shades are amazing...
Out of this world, if you will!

Lets get to it, shall we?

This is what an actual Helix Nebula looks like.

This is what Emerald and Ash's Helix Nebula looks like

This black jelly polish is full of 4 different sizes of holo hex glitter along with blue and pink flecks of color. This is a mysterious polish that changes color, depending on the light you are in.

I love, love, LOVE this polish. It is indeed mysterious. I love the blue and pink shimmery undertones it has in it. In my pictures I am wearing three coats of Helix Nebula, one coat of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite.

Isn't it amazing?? I think this one is my favorite of the Hubble polishes.

Last, but certainly not least, we have Deep Field.

This shade is inspired by the Hubble deep field image. This black jelly polish shows spots of brightness and color from within it's darkness. You can reach opacity with this polish, but if you'd like it to be darker, it looks stunning layered over a black polish.

In my pictures I am wearing three coats of Deep Field, one coat of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite.

This color is freaking amazing! There are so many colors and flashes in this polish, it honestly looks different in every light!

If you want to know about the inspiration behind this polish, check this out...

Makes you feel VERY small, doesn't it?

These, and all of the other Hubble polishes will be on sale for 24% off on April 24th ONLY, so don't hesitate! These polishes are so worth it!

Get them at emeraldandash.com

Be sure to find Emerald and Ash on Facebook and Instagram too!

Emerald and Ash - NEW Hubble polishes

Good evening! I hope your Easter Sunday finds you well.
If you don't celebrate Easter, happy Sunday Funday!

This year, on April 24th, marks the 24th anniversary of the Hubble telescope being launched into space. Without this amazing telescope, we would't be privy to all of the stunning and mesmerizing things in our universe.

Emerald and Ash has an existing line of Hubble based polishes that are inspired by imagery that has been captured by the Hubble telescope. Today I have two new polishes to celebrate the telescope's anniversary that are being added to the collection.

First, I'd like to show you the polish that honors this amazing telescope.
This is Hubble.

Hubble: Based off of the Hubble space telescope, this silver foil polish was created to mimic the outer shell of the Hubble. The polish is also filled with gold and black flakies, which represent the solar arrays and various sensors that cover the telescope. This is a metallic foil that reflects light beautifully and covers the nail in two coats. Hubble can be worn with or without topcoat, though wearing a topcoat will prolong the life of the polish.

In my pictures, I am wearing two coats of Hubble and one coat of Seche Vite.
Here is a picture of the Hubble itself:

I'd say that this polish is a spot on representation of its inspiration. The application of this polish was effortless, and I love how reflective it is. On the nail, this polish looks textured, but it's not. It's lovely. This isn't your standard silver polish!

I did a macro with a little less light so you could really see all the flakies in there!

The next newbie is Globular Cluster M15

Globular Cluster M15 is based off of Globular Cluster M15 which is home to over 100,000 stars. This black jelly is bursting with gold, silver and blue glitters as well as white and blue micro flakies. Gold and silver holo micro glitters hide within, catching the light causing them to twinkle. Best worn with three coats for full coverage and depth, though it can be worn over a black base.

This is a picture of the actual Globular Cluster M15

This polish was so surprising! On the surface it looks like a starry night sky, but when you look closer, you can see all of the extra flakie and holo sparkle. In my pictures, I am wearing 3 coats of Globular Cluster M15, one coat of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite.

WOW! Surprising, right? I gave you a blurry macro so you could see all of that twinkle!

These two new polishes will be available on April 24th, at emeraldandash.com
These and all of the other Hubble polishes will be 24% off on that day only!

Stay tuned for my next post, featuring two existing hubble polishes that are going to rock your world!

Make sure you keep up with Emerald and Ash on Facebook and Instagram

Meet and Greet part 2 - ICE Polish and "Into the Garden"

Welcome back! I'm here with the second installment of my introduction of ICE Polish. The second half of Erin's debut collection is named "Into the Garden"...which is inspired by all things floral!

All of Erin's polishes will be available on Tuesday, April 22nd which is awesome, because that's Earth day! All of these polishes are inspired by floral elements that Erin loves!

First, I'd like to show you my favorite..."Garden Party"

Here, I have layered two coats of Garden Party over Rainbow Fish, from the "Friends" collection.
This color has EVERYTHING that a glitter topper should have! 12 glitters in all, there is various sizes of pastel circle glitter, white hex, holo hex, and cute purple square glitter. There are so many possibilities for this color! I love it so much. I didn't have to fish for glitter pieces and it went on effortlessly.

Check out that macro shot!

Next, I have "Roses are...gold?"
This shade is a lovely soft metallic rose gold. It is very sheer, but you can get to opacity in 4 coats. It is thin enough that it doesn't feel thick if you do use that many coats.

In my pics I have three coats of "Roses" and one coat of Seche Vite.

This color shows off cooler in my light box, but it's nice and warm in direct sun!

Next, I have "Pansies are a girls best friend"
This is a sheer purple jelly with white and yellow hex glitter throughout. In the sunshine, you get a lovely surprise of metallic garnet micro glitter!

This is true for this color, as it is for all of Erin's colors...the application is wonderful. No problems with settling glitter and you get a nice even placement without dabbing.
I have three coats of Pansies on, with one coat of Seche Vite.

Finally, I have a polish that is inspired by a sad reality. We live in Minnesota...and here, it seems that Winter will never, ever end. Lets take a look at, "May flowers and Snow showers".

This is a slightly opaque white crelly with various sizes and shapes of purple and royal blue glitters throughout. In my pics, I have on two coats and one coat of Seche Vite.

This color got nice and opaque in two easy coats.

I love those diamond glitters in there...they're like flower petals!

So? What do you think?
I have to say, that the debut collections from ICE Polish are especially lovely! There isn't a polish that I don't like!

As I said before, these colors will be available on April 22nd, on the ICE Polish Etsy store...

Meet and Greet - ICE Polish and the "Friends" collection

I am SO EXCITED to introduce you to a new indie polish line that will be available April 22nd! The brand is ICE Polish. Erin is the mastermind behind this line, and I can tell you firsthand...she has put in a TON of work.

I was lucky enough to have been matched with Erin for a Reddit polish group's secret Santa exchange, and she and I have stayed in touch ever since! Erin is double majoring in physiology and clinical laboratory science. She is a super busy student and has still found the time to come up with this lovely introductory collection that I have to show you today!

So, without further ado...lets get to the goods!
This is the "Friends" collection for ICE polish!

First off, I have "Rainbow Fish". This color is a sheer blurple jelly with a nice linear holo to it. In my pics I have 3 coats of Rainbow Fish and one coat of Seche Vite.

(light box)

(direct sun)

Next, I have Black Raspberry Jelly. This color is a sheer black jelly with varying sizes of raspberry and orchid colored glitter.
I am wearing three coats with one coat of Seche Vite.

Look at how much depth this polish has! It's so yummy!
My first coat went on a little streaky, but after three coats, it's perfect!

Now we have "Laven Luxurious, like livin luxurious but...not"
I call it Laven, for short.

Laven is a sheer purple jelly with small blue hex, large blue circles and micro gold glitters.
I love this color, it's so squishy!
I was kind of wondering how well the blue glitter would show up against a purple base, but I think it really pops, don't you?

This next one, is a color that I am very excited about. This color is near and dear to my heart. Erin and I were to meet up for lunch one day. We were chatting the night before about my crazy obsession with blue nail polish, and she said she was going to make me my very own blue explosion in a bottle.

This isn't called blue explosion, but it's more appropriately named "Bubbles" because I think it looks like...bubbles.

Bubbles is a blue pearl jelly base with silver and blue circle and hex glitters of varying sizes. In my pictures I have on three coats and one coat of Seche Vite.

I love the hint of pearl in the background of this color, don't you?

Finally, let's talk about Barbie. She's blonde and she loves all things sparkly and pink. The last color I have to show you today is
"Barbie had a rough night".

Barbie is a pearly pink jelly with a little bit of everything mixed in! There's micro pastel yellow glitter, small pastel pink circle glitter, large pastel yellow hex glitter and holo pink hex glitter and the icing on the cake is the large heart glitter pieces in there. I like the fact that the heart glitter is there, but it isn't in your face.

Ice Polish will open its cyber "doors" on April 22nd. For this and all the rest of the lovely colors that I'll show you in my next post...visit etsy.com/shop/IcePolish

Also, keep up with all things ICE Polish on Facebook and Instagram

See you next time...we'll be going "Into the Garden"

Enchanted Polish - April 2014

I finally have my very own Enchanted Polish!

Enchanted polish releases their colors on a month to month basis, in a pre-sale format. They open their store for one hour, on one day and limit their buyers to one bottle of polish. This last release included two colors, March 2014 and April 2014. Since there was two colors, a person could purchase one of each color, and that's it. Another caveat is that the color is a mystery! That just speaks to the cult following of this brand, people wait for the chance to buy a polish from a maker, sight unseen! What's great is, the colors are always fantastic! That's why they re-sell for so much more than the original price. That's the reason behind the pre-sale, so that there's a little more Enchanted love to go around.

To avoid spoiling anyone's surprise if they haven't gotten theirs yet...

Enchanted April 2014 is a dusty periwinkle crelly, with a linear holo.

I am wearing two coats of April with one coat of Seche Vite.

This color went on super smooth, didn't make any bald spots or antything. As with all holos, you can see the full extent of their sparkle when they are in the sun. Isn't this color gorgeous?

I am very happy with my decision to buy April, even though I didn't see it first!

Visit http://enchantedpolish.bigcartel.com/ and subscribe to their email list, if you want to be part of the mystery polishing fun!

Chaos and Crocodiles - Narwhals are Unicorns too

Happy Monday everyone! Finally, I have acquired another polish that I have longed for, ever since I saw it on the Model City Polish blog. Todays color is by Chaos and Crocodiles and it's called "Narwhals are Unicorns too".

A lot of Indie makers sell their polishes via pre-order. The last time that this brand had a pre-order, I missed it...I mean, I just missed it. I was so bummed! Anyway, I hopped on facebook one night and saw a post saying that there was a pre-order happening...at that exact moment! I was so excited!!! I placed my order and then the waiting began.

After weeks of waiting...this cute little polish came.

Narwhals are unicorns too is an aqua crelly base with shimmer and glitters in  aqua and gold. It also has a holographic shimmer to it. In my pictures I have on two coats with a coat each of Gelous and Seche Vite.

I found this color to be a smidge on the thick side. I have some polish thinner, but I haven't tried it yet. The thickness wasn't enough to make me not want to use it. I love this color, and I am so happy that I was FINALLY able to get my hands on it!

It's so pretty, isn't it??

Be sure to follow Chaos and Crocodiles on Facebook for pre-order updates and take a peek at all their other goodies on their Big Cartel site!
