ICE Polish - Dreams come true...not if I can help it! Collection part 2

Sooooo...I may have been a little premature with posting Part 1 of this collection.
I got the release date mixed up and got hustling, only to find out that this collection isn't coming out til June 30th! Silly me.

Anyway...I'm here with the second installment of the collection titled, "Dreams come true...not if I can help it!" This collection is inspired by the princesses and villains from our favorite Disney movies!
First off, I will tell you that I had no problems with application whatsoever. I love how long lasting ICE Polish is as well!

Cinderella and Stepmother

Cinderella
Cinderella is a soft, powder blue polish with blue shimmer and scattered holo. In my photos I am wearing three coats of Cinderella and one coat of Seche Vite.

Stepmother

Stepmother is a gunmetal/charcoal gray with silver shimmer and a scattered holo throughout.
I am wearing two coats of Stepmother and one coat of Seche Vite.

Mulan and Shan Yu

Mulan
Mulan is a bright blue with a slight aqua shimmer and a linear holo effect. It gets opaque after two coats!
I included another sun pic, so you can really see the flash that this holo has!

Shan Yu

Shan Yu is a chocolate brown polish with subtle golden shimmer and a scattered holo effect. Because of the opacity of the pigment, it dried matte, so it definitely needs a topcoat.

Aurora and Maleficent

What I am about to say is meant in a loving way...
These two colors are assholes. They are asshole polishes that refuse to be fully captured by my camera.
That's the reason for the unconventional macro shots.

Aurora

Aurora is a soft pink pearl color, with a very subtle aqua shimmer and a scattered holo. I tried as hard as I could to capture the shimmer in this one, and I just couldn't! Also, every time I tried to get a good shot of this one in the sun...the sun wouldn't come out! She's an asshole...I told you!

Maleficent

Maleficent is my favorite...that's why I saved it for last. In the bottle it's very sheer, so in my pictures I am wearing one coat of black under one coat of maleficent. This color is such a chameleon! One second, it's green and the next, it's purple! I had this color on for a few days too, without a chip!

So? What do you think?? Which of these lovely polishes are you going to try?? These 6, and the rest of this collection will be available on the ICE Polish Etsy site on June 30th!! Be there or be square!

Reverie Nail Lacquer (formerly Two Gypsies) - Summer Collection

Hello everyone! I'm very excited to be showing you the Summer collection by Reverie Nail Lacquer, which was formerly named Two Gypsies. This collection is adorable, and left me oohing and aahing with every color I put on!

So, without further ado...lets take a look at the polishes individually!

Agave

Agave is a pale blue crelly polish with tiny copper and golden flakies.
This color went on a tad bit thick, but smoothed out nicely when I put topcoat on it.
In my pictures I have on 3 coats of Agave and one coat of Seche Vite.

Orchid

Orchid is a pale purple-pink base with a slight golden shimmer and a subtle holographic sheen in the sunlight.
This polish was a BUGGER to get a pic of...I wanted to make sure I captured it the best I could. The picture above is outside of my lightbox. It is a very accurate depiction of what it looks like in real life. This is such a soft color, with a lot goin on. It's just beautiful...don't you think?
In my pics I have on just 3 coats of Orchid with no top coat. (Check out that shine!)

Seascape

Seascape is a cream colored crelly polish featuring a gold shimmer and hex and dot glitters in various shades of peach, yellow and blue.
This polish reminds me exactly of what the name suggests. It makes me think of sitting on the beach in florida. The colors are spot on!
In my pictures I have on two coats of seascape, one coat of gelous and one coat of Seche Vite.

Mermaid Scales

Mermaid scales is a super sparkly teal microglitter bomb with both holographic and iridescent glitters.
This one is so glittery and awesome! Each coat went on easily and built up very nicely. In my pictures I have on 4 thin coats of color and one coat of Seche Vite.

Andromeda

Andromeda is a deep blue-purple jelly base packed with hex and dot glitter, as well as two different sizes of colorful stars and tiny iridescent bar glitters.
You know me and my thing for all things blue...this color is beautiful!
I didn't have to do much dabbing to get the glitter spread out, with this sheer blurple jelly.
I am wearing three coats of color, one coat of gelous and one coat of Seche Vite.

Summer Wine

Summer wine is a bright red jelly polish loaded with pink, red, orange, yellow and iridescent hex and dot glitter. This color definitely has its share of glitters! I had to do quite a bit of dabbing for glitter placement with this one. Also, the red is very sheer. I used 4 coats of this color, but I think I could have done 3 if I had put them on a little more carefully. Also, I have on a coat of Gelous and Seche Vite.
This color is very beautiful and eye catching. I love the fact that it has TONS of glitter!

These 6 shades will be available TOMORROW, June 25th at 10:00 am EST on the Reverie Nail Lacquer Etsy site.
Also, be sure to stay up to date with Reverie on Facebook and Instagram!

ICE Polish - Dreams come true...not if I can help it! Part 1

Greetings! I feel like I have been a swatching maniac lately! I haven't posted much because
I have been preparing to show you ICE Polish's summer collection!

As you may or may not know, I have a full time job and a 4 year old child. Life is super busy! Sometimes I have a lot of spare time for fun nail stuff, and sometimes life gets in the way. So, I'd like to say thank you for checking in with me, even though I've been lacking on the posts lately!

The summer collection by ICE Polish is titled "Dreams come true...not if I can help it". This collection is inspired by 12 of Disney's princesses and villains from 6 different movies! This collection is fun, and a spot on representation of it's inspiration.

There aren't any glitters in this collection, but there's TONS of shimmer, holo, and shifting tones!

First up we have Jasmine and Jafar, inspired by the movie Aladdin.

Both of these pictures are shown in direct sun.

Jasmine is a soft turquoise pearl with a slight holo shimmer. It is a metallic color, so if not applied just right will show brush strokes.

Jafar is a deep magenta with a blue/purple shimmer and holo. Pictures do not do this polish justice. Looking at it in the bottle doesn't even do it justice. I put it on and the color on the nail is absolutely stunning.

Secondly, we have Ariel and Ursula...from The Little Mermaid, of course.

Ariel is an orange holo...just bordering coral. Normally, I don't like orange on me...but this orange is special. I think the holo makes it unique and interesting.

Ursula is a metallic purple with a very strong linear holo. It also has teeny black flakies that are hiding in there. Inside it has a soft, gray purple look, and in the sun it's super flashy!

Last, but not least we have Belle and Gaston...from Beauty and The Beast.

I love being surprised by polishes...like Ariel, Belle wowed me when I put it on my nails. Belle is a soft yellow with a slight holo and a soft pink shimmer.

Gaston is a berry red holo. In my light box it looks more pink than it does in the sun

To sum up this half of the collection...
The princess colors are soft and delicate...while the villain colors have more bang for your buck!
As always, her colors apply like a dream. Another thing that's amazing about ICE Polish is that it lasts so long! I have one of her colors on, that you'll see in my next post and it's been on for 3 days with no wear or chipping!

These colors and the rest of the collection will be available on ICE Polish's etsy site on June 30th!

Stay tuned for the rest of this awesome collection!!

ICE Polish - Friday the 13th releases

Are you superstitious? Does the fact that there's a full moon this Friday (the 13th) freak you out? Not even a little? Me either. Kind of a funny coincidence though, right?

You know what else is happening on Friday? ICE Polish is releasing two polishes just for the occasion.
First up is 7 Years Bad Luck...

This is (obviously) a black shredded glitter topper. My bottle is LOADED with black shreds so I only had to put one coat over my silver (which is not ICE polish, by the way).
It can be a little rough to the touch, because of the shreds so I did one coat each of Gelous and Seche Vite to smooth it all out. It is, by the way...totally smooth.

Next up is Bloody Good Day. Erin created this polish in honor of World Blood Donor day, which is June 14th!

Bloody Good Day is a Raspberry linear holo that is GORGEOUS in and out of the sun. It's like a super holographic polish. In my photos I am wearing two coats of color and one coat of Seche Vite.

So, what do you think? Will you pick up either of these?

They will be available this Friday, the 13th of 2014 in the ICE Polish shop on Etsy!

Man Glaze - Mink Mitten

Today's polish was a little bit of a surprise...one of those that I ordered, and I totally forgot about it til it showed up! I got it for $6.66 and free shipping which is a ridiculously good deal!

Today, I'd like to show you Mink Mitten by ManGlaze!

"What woman could resist a guy wearing a metallic lavender nail colour named
after furry love gloves? Probably a bunch but those chicks are no fun anyway."

Mink Mitten is a matte, metallic "Plavendurple".
In my opinion, it's a little more on the satin-ey side of matte...
In my pictures I'm wearing one coat of Nail Envy and two coats of Mink Mitten.

This label was designed by punk rock artist Joe Simko. It was inspired by actress Pam Grier. To check out more of Joe Simko's work head over HERE.

This polish has a fabulous formula. I found it very easy to work with. My guess is because it's not SUPER DUPER matte, it doesn't dry as fast as some other matte polishes do.
Really, I love everything about this polish, the color, the metallic, the satin texture, the bottle...everything!

For a company that strives to create "tough" polishes, this one is pretty sweet.

Pick up this and some other "Manly" polishes over at MANGLAZE.COM.

Alchemy Lacquers - Elixir No. 4

Hello there friends! Did you have a good weekend? I had a very busy one, got to see an old friend...and got to meet some new friends today! I went to a local meetup of a few nail bloggers and polish makers in the Twin Cities area. Talk about a good time! We went to the Mall of America, had a nice long lunch and tracked down some cupcakes afterwards!

Life is always better with cupcakes.

These are the nails I wore for the meetup today!

I stamped over my color with the MoYou Artist plate 11.
Sadly, this is the best picture I got of them. I felt a little lifting, and proceeded to ruin them on the car ride home. If I'm not near my acetone and my polish starts to peel, I can't help myself. I'll pick it right off!

The color I used for my base is Elixir Number 4 by Alchemy Lacquers. I spotted this beauty over on Polished Pathology first...and at the time it was unavailable. I couldn't stop thinking about it... One day, I saw a facebook update saying that it was back in stock and I nabbed one for myself. This polish is magical you guys....

Elixir No. 4 is a sapphire blue, interference special effect nail lacquer with iridescent micro glitter and green to purple color changing glitter.

In my pictures I have on 3 coats of Elixir No. 4 and one coat of Seche Vite. The application is great, went on smoothly, and didn't get too thick.

I just checked Etsy and this color is still available. You should probably go and get it! I can't wait to try this as a topper over a dark color. Imagine the possibilities!

Indigo Bananas - Rez

Hi there! Did you enter my Emerald and Ash giveaway yet? If not...click HERE!

Now, onto the swatch of the day! This one was an interesting one to work with. I'd like to show you Rez, by Indigo Bananas.

It reminds me of Moon Rocks! The reason I say that this polish is interesting to work with, is because it's loaded with glitter! Rez is a dusty purple/green duochrome that is packed with gray, purple black and silver glitter in varying sizes. This color definitely has a rough finish. In my pictures I am wearing two coats of Rez, one coat of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite. I feel like I could have used another coat of gelous, just to smooth it out.

Moon rocks, I tell ya...

This color was one of the first indie polishes I bought. The first time I used it, I was kinda turned off by how rough it was and I didn't really know what a duochrome was. Now that I am wearing it after all this time, I just love it! It's definitely not for everyone. But I'm all about polishes that are outside the norm!
