Crazy Eyes!

Hey there...It's ten at night...why NOT write a blog post?

This is the time of night that I actually have some real quiet around here...the kiddo is sleeping, the dogs are sleeping and I don't have to work tomorrow. So, here we are! 

I saw some super crazy and super awesome nails on chalkboardnails.com. As usual...the manicures she comes up with are SUPER amazing. I am always in awe of the crazy amazing things she comes up with. For some reason, her "Over the Top Eyeball Nails" stuck with me. I have wanted to try these nails forever, and I felt really ambitious the other night.

Over the top? Yes.

Super fun? Yes.

Halloween appropriate? Yes!

This mani takes lots of patience...but it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Gather your colors and your dotting tools and you're set!

Sugar skulls and Ultra Chromes!

I'm back with another fabulous multi-chrome by ILNP! This time, I've used Mutagen, a green that also has purple, silver and some gold! After the last post where I used Birefringence, I had to get my hands on another one of these color shifting polishes!

Also, I have been itching to do some nail art...so I added some sugar skulls! I used my dotting tools to create these, and I really like the way it turned out. For the glitter pieces I used a stick pin to pick up some larger pieces of glitter from a couple of my glitter polishes. I've got some nail art brushes that are on order, and I think they would be great for painting more detailed sugar skulls.

 The dotting tool worked really well, in my opinion.

Mutagen isn't quite as shifty and Birefringence is, but it's still lovely. At this angle you can see the

 grayish, purple tones in it. This polish is relatively sheer and for my nails in these pics, I used three thin coats.

This one is taken outdoors, in clouded sunlight.

This is artificially lit, with the camera flash on. The more light on this color, the more the silvers and gray greens come out. Have you checked out ILNP.com yet? Go get some Ultra Chromes before they're gone!

Model City Polish and the Halloween collection!

I've been meaning to put up a post, singing the praises of Model City polish...and now it's finally time! I was anxiously awaiting the release of these three colors and needless to say, I wasn't let down. This collection makes my 4th, 5th and 6th MCP colors added to my stash. First of all, I want to applaud the fabulous and SPEEDY customer service over at Model City. When I order polish online, it means I've thought long and hard about what I want to order. Once that order is placed, I'm practically outside, immediately checking my mailbox. Both times I have ordered, my package has come in two days. TWO DAYS, people! 

Here they are, in order of appearance:

-The Great Pumpkin Massacre (pumpkin bread scented)

-Witches Brew (fruit punch scented)

-Bobbing for apples (apple scented, duh)

This is an accent nail with Sinful Colors "Laced up" with two coats of "The Great Pumpkin Massacre" over the top. My husband called it my "random pumpkin nail". Men...they just don't understand...

I used this pic in an earlier post, and really...my pictures just aren't doing the glitter any justice. If you love sparkly...Model City polish is where it's at.

Next up, is "Witches Brew". TONS of sparkle goin on here.

This is an up close, and personal shot of my nail. This color rocks. It's great over black, I've also tried it over blue and that is also lovely!

Last, but not least, "Bobbing for Apples". This is also pictured over black. I find that if you really want to make your glitter stand out, layering it over black gives you the best look. I must say, that this one is my favorite. There's green, there's blue, there's purple, there's big red circle glitter and it smells like apples! What more could you ask for??
